Just when I thought I got him to fall in love with Tennessee

I should've known better than to take him back to Abilene

Allemande left, and Weave

I put him right back into her arms, I wasn't a match for that kinda spark

She's from Texas I can tell by the way he's two steppin' around the room.

Figure

Heads Square thru 4 hands, and make a right hand star,

Heads star left, back to The same 2, Slide Thru, (c'mon baby), Square thru 3

Swing your corner, Promenade her home.

But judgin' by smile that's written on his face, there's nothing I could do.

ALTERNATE FIGURE

Heads Box The Gnat & Slide thru, Single Circle to A Wave, Balance for awhile.

Boys Trade, Boys Run, Bend the line, Right & Left Thru, Flutter Wheel,

Sides face Grand Square

When I'm east bound and down, I can't help but cry

I - 40 seems long and lonelier... with every single mile.

Allemande left, and Weave

I know his mind wasn't ever gonna change, his heart belongs to the Lone Star State

Drinkin' Jack all by myself, He's choosin' Texas, I can tell.

Sides star left, back to The same 2, Slide Thru, (c'mon baby), Square thru 3

Swing your corner, Promenade her home.

It doesn't take a crystal ball to see, a cowboy always finds a way to leave.
